Founded on the hope of raising the voices of important causes and building a community of  parents sharing stories of how to bring back real childhoods in a screen heavy world

Childhood Activated was founded by Victoria Oakes and was born from a simple belief: that childhood should be centered around Real Play and Real Connection. Having worked in tech herself for many years she realised the tides were turning and effects of screens were negatively affecting children culturally, socially, intellectually, physically and mentally. Inspired by Smartphone Free Childhood, Jonathan Haidt,  Jared Cooney Horvath and many brave parents such as Ellen Roome.  She also wanted to talk to a community of like minded parents and discover how  they could help each other navigate this new era of parenting. The key goal for Childhood Activated is to amplify voices for important childhood causes, share parenting stories on how to help our children have happy, screen free childhoods that promote connection, friendships, develop bravery, confidence communication and a love of learning.
